Non-Teaching Vacancies

The School has over 150 non-teaching staff in a variety of positions that help to keep the School running. These include Porters, Secretaries, Accountants, Maintenance Staff, Communication Officers, IT, Science & Art Technicians, Nurses, Gardeners, Painters, HR Advisers, to name a few. They are a key part of the School and integrate with teaching staff at all levels, both professionally and socially.

Performing Arts Technical Assistant (2 Week Temp)

Brentwood School is a leading HMC co-educational independent school in Essex, just 20 minutes from London Liverpool Street.

Brentwood School Performing Arts Department has a number of events running from Mid-November until December.  We require a person to shadow the School’s Performing Arts Technical Manager for a period of two weeks.  Tasks will include (but will not be limited to): manual handling, set & props building, and rigging and operating of sound & lighting equipment.  Tasks will be completed safely under the guidance and close supervision of the Performing Arts Technical Manager. 

This role could suit a person newly qualified with a technical theatre background or similar with an interest in lighting and sound. This is a temporary post for two weeks only.  As such we are seeking a person to work on a self-employed basis.

You will be available to work most days from Monday 20th November until Sunday 3rd December.  We will require you to work two 45 hour weeks including weekends and some evenings.  

The closing date for applications is on 1pm Wednesday 15th November, however job offers could be made for the right person prior to the closing date.

Multi-Skilled Building Operative

Crossing Patrol (Preparatory School)

Required: ASAP

Closing Date: Ongoing 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.45am to 9am and 3.10pm to 4.25pm

Brentwood School is a leading HMC co-educational independent school in Essex, just 20 minutes from London Liverpool Street.

We are seeking to recruit a Crossing Attendant who will provide a crossing patrol service on Middleton Hall Lane between the Prep School and the Hough Gate entrance to the Senior School. The succesful applicant will be required to: safely stop traffic and guide children across the road as per training from Essex County Council which will be provided; wear the official clothing as provided through Essex County Council and use the official pole to halt traffic; maintain friendly relations with pupils and adults as a representative of Brentwood School and undergo safeguarding training at regular intervals through the Prep School.
